Hello, My name is Jenna Jessen-Compton. It is such an honor to represent the wonderful community of Sweet Home, and it's Rodeo, as your 2008 Sweet Home Rodeo Princess. I currently live on our family ranch in Scio, with my parents, Julie and Jim. I have an older sister, Christa, who is a Medic for the USAF stationed in Maryland.
I am 18 years old and a recent graduate of Scio High School, where I am a member of the Forestry Team, and have competed in numerous logging competitions. I am an active member of Scio FFA, holding both Greenhand and Chapter Degrees and will be representing FFA this summer at the Linn County Fair. I have been riding for the Scio High School Equestrian Team for the past 4 years, competing at both local and the state levels. I have also been involved in 4-H for many years. This fall, I plan to attend Linn Benton Community College where I will be studying Veterinary Medicine, specializing in Equine and large animal sciences. Afterward I will be transferring to OSU to enroll in their Veterinary Medicine program. It is my goal to be able to provide excellent veterinary care in our rural communities, on large or small ranches.I have been involved in Rodeos most of my life. I have been a contestant in barrel racing, and I have had the honor of being on the Lake County Court as a Rodeo Princess. I really love and enjoy the wonderful people who make this sport what it is today.
I cannot tell you how happy I am, that my good friend Cera Kem, is my Queen. I am so thrilled to be able to spend a year traveling and promoting our fantastic rodeo with Queen Cera! You will see us at numerous parades and Rodeos representing Sweet Home and our Rodeo. We are really excited about our upcoming 64th Annual Sweet Home Rodeo. Sanctioned by the NPRA our Rodeo promises to be one of the best, (if not the BEST!) in the Pacific Northwest! So be sure to mark your calendars and come join us, for some of the best rodeo entertainment in the State of Oregon!
